Actually it is a $499 gamble to be technically correct... ;-)

But both POTCs play just fine on all the players out now. With the
exception of the PS3, they all load it very slowly though. Gives you
enough time to get a beer that way!

Warner can talk all they want, what really is holding some of the
studios off is the new BD+ that they just all swear will be unbreakable.
I agree with them, it will be unbreakable for about a month.

MOST of us want to watch the damn movie and don't even care about all
the extraneous BS they put on those multi-disk sets of SDs or on the Hi
Def disks. But the studios seemed humped up over it, well that and
being able to do those 'cute' ever slower menus they keep coming up with.

Hi Def disks are still very much niche and will remain that way until
pricing comes WAY down from the current prices, both hardware and movies.

I have both Hi Defs and like both, but I can see why others might not
want them yet.
