 Of course, it may be that the Philips model, like my Philips, requires
 the user to enter a 5-digit code on his remote before it becomes
 region-free.  So he might end up inserting his UK Jonathan Creek DVD
 (both PAL and Region 2) and find that it "doesn't work."
 
 There's a site somewhere that lists all sorts of players by their
 model numbers and tells you things like what regions and formats they
 support, etc.
