I find that rather odd, don't you?
I'd been running 3.54 and was unable to get a connection until I downloaded
the "updated" version from winmxworld (a suggestion that you had made on
July 10th, actually) and, if I recall correctly, there were a few posts here
(strangely enough, they appear to have been deleted) that recommended
changing the "hosts" file.
If (and it appears to be the case) WinMx was not connecting until it was
somehow altered, how is it that some existing installations needed neither
updating or alteration yet remained unaffected?
I'm far from computer-savvy, but this doesn't make sense to me. I'd be
grateful if anyone could offer an explanation.
