How many PD-150s could you buy for the price of one of those cameras :-)

There was a time when "broadcast" equipment was both high quality and very
robust (heavy).
It was also very expensive compared to consumer equipment.

Now the most popular "broadcast" equipment is "prosumer" equipment with XLRs
added on.

We get much higher quality for consumers than ever before,
but broadcast standards have dropped to meet the consumer level.

It's a wonderful thing for the "professionals" that used to shoot Hi-8 or
S-VHS.
