It rather depends on what you use as there are various ways to
normalize. Among them...
1. Raise volume by "X" if below a certain point, diminish volume by
"Y" if above a certain point. This compresses the volume range and is
a common method. AFAIK it does nothing to frequency (bass/treble).
2. Find the existing average volume and adjust all volumes to reach a
desired average.
3. Add/subtract "X" from everything. Hopefully, nothing will be added
if doing so causes clipping.
