 One would think anyone reading PC World would be able to download
 and install a firmware update with no problem whatsoever.  It's
 certainly less effort than downloading the software on their "Top
 PC Freebies" list.
 
 This article seems hell-bent on making a mountain out of a molehill.
 consumer electronics are never perfect right out of the gate, I think
 it's super that HD players can be updated for free, rather than the
 early adopter owner being forced to buy a new player to improve his/
 her compatibility.
 
 These kinds of things should encourage adoption of HD formats, not
 deter it.
