That may be true for devices that cost some 200 or 300 bugs, but even
Philips, Sony or Toshiba for instance use 3rd party chipsets for their
budget products. Consumer Electronics have changed a lot over the
years and underneath that nice little Sony or JVC interface there is
the same cheap chipset you would get when buying a NoName DVD-Player
in your supermarket of choice... :P

However, the SD-270e runs a Zoran 966 Chipset (mine does at least) and
by gathering information about this stange little cpu, I was able to
find a working hack for my German RC2 version of the Player...

I posted it on videohelp.com free for all of you to see (I don't run
through the procedure here for I'm not sure if it's legal on this or
any other newsgroup since I'm to lazy to read the agreements...)
