Doesn't really matter who actually made it. If you buy bad milk do you
return it to the cow?
Wasn't really expecting any for the HP since it's a new drive and discs
haven't changed. The Benq drive came in a Digital Research box. Benq sold
badged and unbadged with different firmware. Strangely mine had the Benq
badged firmware.
For most people with name brand drives the mfg website would be the first
stop unless they want to know more instead of using the drive. If the drive
is bricked with a bad firmware it may void the warranty.
