hmmm.. I just bought the HVX200. With a firestore.
I have to admit, low light shooting was not high on my list of
requirements. I have the DVX100A and never really needed to use it in
extremely low light situation either.
That said, I really like this camera. When I first started looking at the
HDV solution I decided that I didn't want that mess anywhere near my studio.
The HVX's DVCPROHD format uses intra-frame compression which, as far as I
am concerned is a more dependable format and is easier to edit.
I am hoping the HDV format will just disappear.
The DVX100 I own was purchased mainly because of the huge number of indie
filmmakers who raved about the camera. That and the XL1's lens problems. The
HVX is probably no different since it is now quite popular among the same
crowd.
