In the past I've put a small piece of bubble paper in a DVD box to hold the
DVD in place. Tape is a bad idea; you point out one of the reasons.
Some DVD boxes have little tabs on the "lid" to hold the disc in place.
I value those highly. I don't know why all DVD boxes don't have them.
