Hi
I have checked the DVD drive and it is a Toshiba Samsung SD-W3002. It looks
like a standard drive to me.

I have had the HDD out of the recorder, it's a maxtor 80 gig, and hooked it
up to my PC using a USB to IDE adaptor. The problem is that the PC say's
mass storage device detected and ready to use but I can't see the drive in
explorer. In device manager I can see the drive but in the properties -
Volume tab there is no drive information - all blanks.

Putting the HDD back into the recorder and it works fine.
