I tested the Mustek DV9300, and it is based on the same design as the two mentioned here I think:

The biggest problem is that there is no optical zoom,
the second problem is the rotten sound,
the third problem is the battery is flat in a week if you leave it in.

That is done in 640x480 @25fps converted to DivX4 2 pass.

Never in true focus, could not zoom in on the plane, and could not see the viewfinder against the sun,
so had to guess (no optical viewfinder).
But the color is OK, and somehow it did not pixelate while panning _this_ time ;-)
Low light = no picture, but hey, it is fun to have around for sudden things _IF_
you have enough time to find the battery to put it in, as you have to keep it
out, else it is empty when you need it.

Plus: 2GB SD card works, 640x480 @30fps mpeg4 works, more then many digital cameras can.

I just should axe it up one day and put a real lens on it.....

If I were you, I would spend some more and get one with optical zoom and a decent lens and
some for mof focus (auto or manual).
You will need it.
