Hey Ted,

I've been in the business a long time and work as a director. All the
above are relevant. For now just get them to learn the basics of
creating a really simple story, making a shot selection, shoot it with
a cheap camera and then cut it together. They'll discover so much more
from the experience than flat tuition.

There are many discussions on the relevance of film schools and
colleges but there is absolutely no substitute for making your own
films and learning from that experience. There are a few talent
incubators around that churn out great results from those that really
have some elements of talent as opposed to the masses coming out from
film school each year who expect to rise to the top only to be shot
down immediately.

Once your kids have churned out a few films and are getting
comfortable, by all means have a look at academic choices. Have a look
