No need to: with an NLE (non-linear editor) the editor will open the
files on the FS100 as fast as you need them.
I have just read the fs100 manual and confirmed with firestore support
that the files are NOT combined into a single file. They are PLAYED BACK
as IF they were a single file, but of course that takes real time to
transfer over firewire - at the receiving end Windows XP and Linux s/w
will capture the results INTO a single NTFS file.
In the manual the words "single file" refer to the capture of SNAP
pictures, not to video stream.
In other words if you use disk "files" you still have the "2GB" limit
and about 15 separate files to deal with, Not a single file.
To summarize, to get a single file requires realtime (playback). To
copy as disk files you get a batch of files. To use as IF it were
a single file an NLE will make the collection transparently LOOK as if
they were a single file, but they are not.
