Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ALIEN VS. PREDATOR: UNRATED
DIRECTOR'S CUT, THE ARISTOCRATS, DISNEY'S AMERICAN LEGENDS, THE FOG
(2005), FUN WITH DICK AND JANE, LUST FOR FRANKENSTEIN / TENDER FLESH,
THE MARK OF ZORRO: SPECIAL EDITION, POINT OF ORDER, THE VIRGIN SPRING:
CRITERION COLLECTION, and VITAL:
ALIEN VS. PREDATOR: UNRATED DIRECTOR'S CUT (reviewed by Neal Masri,
overall score 80/100):
"In the end, this is fun B movie material that would be at home at your
local drive-in -- if your local drive-in still existed."

THE ARISTOCRATS (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 98/100):
"What The Aristocrats proves to us is that there is no formula for being
funny. Comedy is not just a series of quips, well-timed, and honed to
perfection, flawlessly delivered in front of an audience. Humor is about
being human. It's about personality and idiosyncrasy. It's about context
and contempt, playfulness and peculiarity."

DISNEY'S AMERICAN LEGENDS (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall score
87/100):
"Overall, the cartoons are pretty entertaining, but the disc itself
seems like a missed opportunity. More shorts, more cultural history,
more educational resources -- something should have been added here."

THE FOG (2005) (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall score 45/100):
"This is a scare show that lacks the scares, and most of the show."

FUN WITH DICK AND JANE (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 82/100):
"It's hard for anyone who has ever dined on Ramen noodles, or had to
drive a car older than 2 years from the current model, not to scream
'Die Yuppie scum!' at the television. How are we supposed to feel sorry
for people that have so much? It's like asking me to feel sorry for
Paris Hilton when she doesn't get a new dress."

LUST FOR FRANKENSTEIN / TENDER FLESH (reviewed by Rob Lineberger,
overall score 35/100):
"Few movies have invoked in me such loathing, apathy, and embarrassment
for the people onscreen and behind the camera. If Jess Franco doesn't
hate women and doesn't have the mind of a thirteen-year-old obsessed
with dumb sex jokes, he sure pulls a convincing act."

THE MARK OF ZORRO: SPECIAL EDITION (reviewed by Jeff Andreasen, overall
score 80/100):
"To be honest, this film is one of Fox Studio's all-time gems, and it
deserves something akin to the Criterion treatment -- with some effort
to dig up excised footage and long lost interviews and other extensive
supplemental material, as well as a comprehensive remastering of the
original black-and-white print itself -- not this sort of half-assed double-
dip with only the colorized version to recommend it."

POINT OF ORDER (reviewed by Jesse Ataide, overall score 85/100):
"As director Emile de Antonio notes on the commentary included on this
DVD release, Point of Order is the first time a feature film was made
out of outtakes, the first time anybody made a political feature-length
film out of outtakes, and the first time a political documentary was
made without any narration whatsoever. This allows for McCarthy, Welsh,
and all of the other individuals involved in the hearing to speak for
themselves without any outside verbal interpretation."

THE VIRGIN SPRING: CRITERION COLLECTION (reviewed by Steve Evans,
overall score 98/100):
"This disc comes highly recommended as an addition to any serious film
collection. It is essential viewing."

VITAL (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall score 75/100):
"On the one hand, I enjoyed the idea and the general outline of the
story; the idea is certainly fresh and replete with possibilities. The
acting is also very good, especially with Asano portraying the lost,
withdrawn, and moody Takagi with aplomb. Tsukamoto's direction is
excellent, conveying his unique style and vision without excess. But
on the other hand, each of those strengths is also a significant
drawback for me."
