I've got no further word on exactly what can be attached to that 8-pin
lens controller jack, but I'd like to mention that yesterday (October
19, 2007) B&H began accepting first-come, first-served pre-orders for
the PMW-EX1 at $6999.
Also, Sony has now posted an official U.S. List Price of $10,000 for
the PMW-EX1, which is about $2000 higher than the "less than $8,000"
figure mentioned in their press release of September 18, 2007, which
now seems like so long ago even though it's only been a month.
The $6999 B&H price includes, of course, a BC-U1 battery charger, a
two-hour BP-U30 battery, and an SBP-8 8 GB SxS PRO flash memory card.
Additional SxS PRO cards, either 8 GB or 16 GB, are not yet listed on
B&H's Web site.
B&H is asking $117 for an extra BC-U1 battery charger and $117 for an
extra BP-U30 battery. The optional double-capacity (four-hour) BP-U60
battery is offered for $234. The optional SBAC-US10 USB 2.0 SxS PRO
flash memory card reader/writer is $243 and the optional VCL-EX0877
0.8x wide angle conversion lens is offered for $450.
