I did check them all, and they did not do what i wanted, let my
explain ... i have over 6000 songs at the moment , i cannot start
entering a key word for each one, i have no time for this, who would?
The songs are mostly in a hierarchy as follows Letter of the
alphabet, artist/group name, album, then song... this was done by
"TheGodfather" software, which it self is very nice.... as time went
on i realized that storing them like this does not really matter, so i
stopped and now i simply create new folders named new, so now i have
new 1 to 6 now with stuff in there... Now i use 3 programs to play
music, depending on what i am doing... MixMeister Pro V 6, OtsDJ, and
windows media player..
What i would like to do is categorize my music by type rather than
specific playlists, so to speak... so if i want to hear Dance music, i
can browse through a catalog i created named dance music, that i think
is dance music, obviously you cannot relay on the genre column of any
piece of software as it is never correct... So, i want to create
categories where i can put my songs, not actually MOVE the song just a
list of the songs in that catagory. I have no desire to start moving
teh actuall files around. Then from with in the in category, if i
wanted, drag and drop(a copy of the actual file) to s simple folder
to a cd or whatever. Also i would like to be able to see if a song
has been assigned a category wit in a playlist, or within a catalog
so that i do not miss anything... say i go trough all my music to make
these lists, but i missed a few songs, easy to do when you have a few
thousand songs... if was able to see in the playlist or catalog that a
song has not been assigned to a category or playlist, i can then
assign it... how else would you know if a song belongs to a certain
list or category?
I hope i made myself clearer , and i apologize if i upset anyone....
Have a great day to all..
Rob..
