Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of CAPTAIN JACK, DON'T GO IN THE
HOUSE, FEAR CHAMBER, GILGAMESH: UNDER A BLOOD RED SKY (VOLUME 4),
MESSIAH, PEACEMAKER: COMPLETE COLLECTION, PUNISHMENT PARK, SAMURAI GUN:
COCKED AND LOADED (VOLUME 1), and VIEWTIFUL JOE (VOLUME 1):
CAPTAIN JACK (reviewed by James A. Stewart, overall score 84/100):
"Although I've written a lot so far, and will write more after this one
word, Captain Jack can be summed up in one word: amiable."

DON'T GO IN THE HOUSE (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 85/100):
"Yikes, is this movie a mental and visual screw job. Writer/director
Joseph Ellison has put together a brutal little 'psycho' flick --
part excursion into the tortured mind of an abuse victim, and part
shock horror."

FEAR CHAMBER (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall score 75/100):
"No matter who directed the scenes in question, know that lurid sex is a
part of the film, with many instances of women in their underwear being
chased or tortured."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/fearchamber.php
GILGAMESH: UNDER A BLOOD RED SKY (VOLUME 4) (reviewed by Brett Cullum,
overall score 90/100):
"Trent Reznor should be really jealous that his latest album, Nine Inch
Nails' With Teeth, already has the perfect video to accompany it, and
it's Gilgamesh. If you've never slowly swayed back and forth to a Cure
song while dressed all in black, smoking one of your mom's cigarettes,
you may not get it."

MESSIAH (reviewed by Jesse Ataide, overall score 90/100):
"In many ways the oratorio feels new and fresh and exciting again, which
is no small feat for songs which have become little more than cliches.
Those who are not necessarily fans of classical music may also find much
to appreciate here simply in regards to the social commentary and sheer
visual splendor of the film."

PEACEMAKER: COMPLETE COLLECTION (reviewed by Dan Mancini, overall
score 73/100):
"Peacemaker would be a solid, if derivative, little show if about 12
episodes' worth of material were excised. As it stands, it's a horrible
mutt of an anime whose underlying tragic tone must constantly compete
with cloying, over-the-top, excruciatingly unfunny slapstick."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/peacemaker.php
PUNISHMENT PARK (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 80/100):
"It has its moments (any confrontation between the cops and the kids is
rife with electrifying edginess) and, as a piece of proselytizing
history, you couldn't ask for a more innovative and intriguing conceit
(this may be the first movie to utilize the POV camera as a mock-
documentary device). But Punishment Park is not really entertaining.
It's engrossing, but only in the most speculative, specious manner."

SAMURAI GUN: COCKED AND LOADED (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Mitchell
Hattaway, overall score 60/100):
"The animation itself is incredibly lackluster. On the other hand, if
you're looking for nothing more than liberal doses of graphic violence
and leering sex, then this series is just for you, as these two elements
appear to be the series' primary selling points."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/samuraigunvol1.php
VIEWTIFUL JOE (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score
75/100):
"Kudos to the animators for making the series look so much like the
video game, and jeers to the script writers who lamely and loosely
fleshed out a smart video game, turning it into a tepid serial
adventure."
