So, I think what I'm learning from this post is that the Vista eye
candy and the hard drive speed of my computer may be the most likely
causes of my poor HD handling. I thought Vista's eye candy was based
on how well your computer 'scores' and thus wouldn't hinder me since
I'm not the one deciding it's prevalence. But, nonetheless, I think
I'll try setting all the Vista settings to the most basic and seeing
if HD performance goes up. I'm sure I could improve my computer's HD
handling by upgrading all sorts of things on my computer, but I guess
I was hoping to find out the glaring deficiency in my system setup
that keeps mine from handling HD when other, seemingly lesser systems
handle it better...
I'll post as to whether the Vista eye candy downgrading helped at all
as soon as I can...
