You can burn it as HD-DVD. There are some people here experienced in doing
this. You can do this in several HD-formats. Some players can play back for
instance WMV-HD and X264-HD. Not sure if you could burn to a mini Blu-Ray.

Drawbacks are: obviously you are looking at whatever fits on a 4.7/9.5GB
DVD. And you might use a format which can only played back on a computer
(but that would be the same issue when streaming it, as you suggested).
