Hello all:
I'm a working screenwriter who's recently gotten into amateur video as a
creative outlet (i.e. I seek professional-looking results, but I'm not
looking to make this a career - yet). I intend to pick the brains of this
newsgroup about various issues of production in the future.
While I'm not completely clueless when it comes to video, I am just a
beginner. I've learned a lot in the past, but I have even more to learn
and I intend to become a regular (and eventually, a contributor) here.
A bit about my gear: I have an XL1s, a Canon HV20 (for portable quick &
dirty shots), a laptop with the Adobe CS3 master collection installed and
an external 500 GB drive to which I capture using OnLocation (formerly
DVRack - amazing software!). I have a cheap Chinese knock-off shotgun mic
(suitable for my present needs), a boom mic stand, three Lowel Omni
lights with umbrellas and reflectors, four 500w shop lights (3200K) that
I use for flooding large areas, and a couple of 250w incandescent floods.
Ebay is my friend. ;-)
Looking forward to my stay here.
