This is the 21st century. DVDs carry as much as 7.1 channels of discrete
stereophonic sound. It's absurd to look for a new player to incorporate
into a circa 1970 two channel stereo.

Look around at some of the inexpensive AV receivers that offer you Dolby
Digital and DTS along with remarkably efficient small speakers with a
sub woofer. The cost isn't all that much considering what you'll get.
Most include remote controls that can also be programed for other
components.

Now, let's talk about that 21 inch Motorola console color TV you're
using...
