I put together a dedicated PC as home theater system and connected
directly to my HDTV's HDMI port. No more compatibility problems. I can
store in any format I want or juet leave the video on my HD. With my home
theater hooked up to my home LAN, I never have to burn DVDs just to watch
a video.

I bought no-name batteries for my HV20 for $3 each on ebay. They last
about 2 hours each, so I bought 4. I also got a charger from the same
vendor for about $9.
