That's what I said. Film :-) Although, with a decent high-end digital
videocamera, you can get away as well. If the weather is not sunny
(overcast), you don't have to worry about ugly blown-out highlights. A
camera with controleable gamma would be nice, where you can set a
"filmlike" gamma. Thinking along the lines of Sony Z1 and Panasonic HVX200
& DVX100.
Tweaking gamma can be done in post as well, but it's better if your
material is already "halfway there", so that in post you only need to make
mino adjustments.
Now you would also need a jib or maybe (since you probably work with a
small camera), a camera-boom, to swing the cam around and create
interesting shots.
Then it's "location location". To be able to shoot at a nice location, you
will need to get permits, which cost you money. And you will need public
liability insurance, or else you won't get a permit in the first place. You
might live in a country of course where they don't even know what a permit
is, or you can try to shoot without one. But as soon as you show-up with
your camera-boom, people will see you, and without permit, that could be
the end. Oh, and you usually need the permission of the owner of the
building.
Welcome to the world of filmmaking. Still want to go ahead? Good luck ;-)
cheers
