GEEZ, does that now urban-legend-status "Microsoft *trying* to kill
disks" thing drive fans up the wall--
Yes, MS wants to keep their "download" ace in the sleeve, still in the
hopes that they can keep at least one chance at a monopoly on their VC-1
coding for downloadable movies...
But the new strategy for HD seems to have moved from "Our superior
technology will bury Sony" to a more desperate and concilatory "Aw,
c'mon...We can have two formats, can't we? We're cheap, 'n stuff!"
Hence the D-word being brought up as a smokescreen every time someone
points out nasty facts about the S-word (sales)--
Since they're hoping that they can *still* play the "Co-existence" card
for X-Box Live vs. hard Blu-ray, even if hard-HD does go under.
