RIAA, U.S. Military Will Prevent Piracy With Brain Chips
WASHINGTON D.C. (World Wire) - In a new effort to prevent piracy of
copyrighted music, the Recording Industry Association of America(RIAA)
is working with the U.S. Military to forcibly implant brain chips in
music buyers in order to prevent piracy.
According to scientific studies paid for by the RIAA, neurons in the
human brain duplicate auditory input whenever music is played and
intercepted by the ear. The music is converted into neural data
and stored inside of brain cells. The music can be replayed over and
over again whenever a person remembers a certain song.
Under U.S. Copyright law, this would be considered an unauthorized
duplication and playback of a copyrighted musical composition. In
order to prevent this, the RIAA has acquired the assistance of the
Pentagon's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency(DARPA) that has
developed microchip technology which will be implanted inside the
human brain.
Originally developed under DARPA's Brain Machine Interfaces program in
conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the
implantable chips are designed to interface with neurons in the brain
in order to control motor activity and memories. Monkeys were
trained to control a robotic arm using their thoughts and the behavior
of rats was modified during MIT laboratory experiments.
This technology will be used to "erase" memories of copyrighted music
from the minds of copyright violators. Under a new plan developed
between the RIAA and DARPA, the first recipients of these brain chips
will be convicted copyright pirates. They will be given the option
of taking the brain chip or face prison time and massive fines for
their piracy.
The chips themselves will be fitted with microwave receivers and
remotely activated by a high-power microwave signal emitted from cell
phone towers. Each and every chip will be encoded with a digital
serial number so the RIAA can activate one chip to erase musical
memories in a single pirates brain or activate several chips at once
in order to affect an entire group of implanted pirates. The
erasure of pirated music will be accomplished with a simple push of a
button.
Beginning on February 18th, 2009 a portion of the electromagnetic
spectrum which is currently allocated to analog television channels 52
through 59 by the FCC, will be auctioned off to the RIAA when American
television converts from analog to digital broadcasting. This
portion of the spectrum will be used to broadcast brain chip commands.
Over the course of several years, the RIAA's brain chip anti-piracy
plan will be incrementally implemented and introduced to the public
during times of national emergency and martial law. The brain chips
will double as Homeland Security "counter-terrorism" devices in order
to erase thoughts of terrorism or civil unrest from an implanted
population.
Military implantation checkpoints will be set up in music stores and
other locations around the country in order to implant large numbers
of people. New laws will be passed requiring people to take the
microchip if they wish to listen to music ever again.
An RIAA spokesperson had no comment on the plan other than to say
"it's a classified government project".
