No, the dongle is a little plug with a tiny circuit board inside it,
typically screwed into the printer port on the back of your PC that
hosts the Alladin software. Remove it carefully, clean the contacts on
the connector area, re-seat it and hope that fixes the problem. If a
dongle breaks down your software is locked out, dead, and I don't know
if Pinnacle has any spares left to send to users, or even if they
would.
