I can't help you with direct Firestore experience, but I am curious what
causes you to dread transferring video from your camera to the computer. I
use both Vegas Video 7 and Scenealyzer Live as capture software. With both
I start the capture and walk away. Yes, it is a real-time capture process,
but it has been essentially glitchless for me. More often that not, because
I'm old-school I guess, I review the footage using Vegas Video's capture
function. As I watch, I mark the in and out points of just those scenes I
want to capture, leaving the bad takes, bouncy camera shots, and other
never-to-be-used shots out of the capture list. Eventually, I would have to
review all that footage anyway, so there is no real time lost doing the
preview. Now, capture is pretty quick.
