Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of EDGAR ALLAN POE'S ANNABEL LEE, FIRE
AND ICE, GIRL SLAVES OF MORGANA LE FAY, I WAS A ZOMBIE FOR THE FBI, THE
MAN WHO NEVER WAS, MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS: MICHAEL PALIN'S
PERSONAL BEST, THE PURIFIERS, THE SENSUOUS NURSE, and SUICIDE GIRLS: THE
FIRST TOUR:
EDGAR ALLAN POE'S ANNABEL LEE (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 88/100):
"What makes this all work so well is the same principle that Tim
Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas exploited quite effectively.
Puppets moving on their own are damn creepy! There's something unearthly
and primal about watching a doll navigate his way through a decrepit
graveyard in search of his dead lover."

FIRE AND ICE (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall score 89/100):
"Why am I being so forgiving when it comes to thin plot and character
work? It's because the action and the visuals make up for it."

GIRL SLAVES OF MORGANA LE FAY (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall
score 98/100):
"Even in the seventies, people looked askance at movies like Girl Slaves
of Morgana Le Fay. But with the perspective of history, they seem more
chaste, and yet more daring, than their modern counterparts."

I WAS A ZOMBIE FOR THE FBI (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall
score 88/100):
"Any aspiring filmmakers will want to seek out this disc for the
commentary by director Marius Penczner, who covers all the nuts and
bolts of zero-budget filmmaking. The commentary is a continuous stream
of information, including topics such as pulling off cheap effects,
reusing sets, and how to make the most of every shot."

THE MAN WHO NEVER WAS (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall score 87/100):
"I'm not a fan of war films in general, but The Man Who Never Was was
fascinating viewing. I particularly liked that it showed a side of war
that I don't usually hear about: the careful thought, preparation, and
downright cunning that goes into victory."

MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS: MICHAEL PALIN'S PERSONAL BEST (reviewed by
Eric Profancik, overall score 80/100):
"This release, the second of six, should perfectly fit the bill and
satisfy that Python craving. As each member of the troupe is given the
opportunity to pick their 'personal best' bits from the series, how
could you go wrong?"

THE PURIFIERS (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 65/100):
"The Purifiers is a techno-laced, super-stylized, ultra-wacky-kinetic
trainwreck of a film. It seems writer/director Richard Jobson
desperately wants to create a hard-hitting action spectacle mixed
with some heavy-handed commentary about disenfranchisement, but after
82 minutes with this flick, the only thing I wanted to hit was the
snooze button."

THE SENSUOUS NURSE (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 88/100):
"This is one time that the comedy side of 'sex comedy' actually amounts
to something. I typically deplore antics or zaniness, and can barely
tolerate wacky hijinks. But Rossati imbues his antics with an extra
measure of snark, and the humor is delivered with such unexpected
crackle that it continually caught me off guard."

SUICIDE GIRLS: THE FIRST TOUR (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall
score 84/100):
"It is an assault on the senses and the sexuality from the opening
frame; a visceral combination of blaring rock and strong, beautiful
women shaking their proverbial moneymakers for no reason other than they
@#$%ing feel like it."
