Sounds more like touchy drive or overloaded power supply than bad
discs to me. I have a Riteon 1693 and they have gone through probably
400 discs total in the past few months with no coaster.

If your drive is new, take it back for an exchange. Also what size is
your power supply and do you have any extra hardware like power
guzzling high end video card or multiple hard drives? Some name brand
PC comes with cheap power supply that is barely rated high enough to
handle stock configuration, not more at all.
