I suppose. All one messes up with an HP printer is the cartridge in
question. Epson, however, has the piezo jets on the printer, and the
"cartridge only contains ink. An HP printer provides the owner with a
fresh set of piezo jets with each new cartridge installation, as they
are integrated into the cartridge. I think I like that better. I
suppose the only concern would be alignment of the jets from one
cartridge to another. That must be what the initial calibration
routines on the new HPs is for. The old ones required the user to
feed back info to the system after a printed page is created and
examined. Adjustments got made, and a new calibration page gets
created and re-examined. The new ones just do it when the new
cartridge is inserted, They must have unique IDs in them.
