The Epsons are too new yet to know for sure, but the Canons I have owned
have all used the same ink tanks since the s400 which I bought about
2000 and refilling since then. No fading is noticeable on photographs
I printed out from my early days with it. That printer is still going
strong, and has been passed on to one of my grandchildren (still with
the original print head.)

I haven't had any problems with the Canons, nor with the Epson 210 I
bought in November last year. The Epson 310 I have only had for a
month, but seeing it uses the same print mechanism, head and tanks as
the 210 I would expect results to be the same.

The Canon inks appears identical, but the Epson's are very slightly less
vivid, although still excellent quality. I have never had the problem
you mentioned, except if I accidentally bought the wrong ink. The
Epson yellow, for example, seems a little more orange than the Canon one.

Very satisfied. The suppliers from whom I buy claim to match the
original ink, and this seems to be backed up by the results I have had.
I do stress though that what works for me, because of the volume of
printing I do, may not work for others.
