thats due tothe 60-hz refresh rate and interlacing!!!
buy a CRT with a LINE-DOUBLER!!..............eyes strain dissapears.

you've not had a decent CRT if you get eye strain from it.

radiation levels in modern TVs is MUCH lower than back in the 1950's era.
its really a non-issue. Unlike Cell-phones!!
