Get your parents to cough up a few bucks per month for a dial up 
connection and use your phone line (if you have one in your dorm room) 
to connect to the net through a 56K modem (again, if you have one). 
Sounds like the college is using some sort of firewall to block p2p 
traffic within their network.  Check the college's "acceptable use 
policy."
