Incredible? How so? This is usenet.
Have you heard the expression... "you pays your money, you takes your
chances"?
The "trick" to usenet is to firmly reign in your gullibility, be suspicious
of everything you read, research all advice offered, and tread warily in
these waters. While there are plenty of helpful hints to be found,
discerning them *will* take some effort on your part.
Oh, and by the way, when it comes to assholes, this group has no exclusive
claim on those - they are so abundant, the concept of a kill-file became
mandatory. It's up to you whether you massage them, or ignore them.
