I've used WinMx for the last two years, both with dial-up and cable,
and haven't had problems downloading stuff. The only problem was that
WinMx didn't have EVERY last song and/or video title I searched for.
I thought I'd solve that problem by importing the WSX list of OpenNap
servers. I did that, and when I connect, I can usually get about half
of them to accept me. Fair enough.
However, while searching OpenNap has brought tons more search hits than
WinMx by itself, and while I can get them into my que, they always
"time out" or "connection lost" when the previous file is done
downloading and they are next in the que to start uploading to me.
This is stupid....OpenNap I can que up songs from OpenNap, but when it
comes time to actually start recieving the download, suddenly, the
connection timed out!
Why exactly is the OpenNap so utterly 100% worthless for WinMx users?
Is there some Hack for OpenNap that makes them automatically reject us?
I have been browsing for songs through OpenNap for the last 2 months,
about 2 hours per day, and while I have found lots and lots of song
titles WinMx didn't have, NONE of them ever actually downloaded.
It's like I have a big sign on my forehead that says "I'll give you
money if you reject me :(
So far WinMx is still the winnner, no problems.
