I can actually live with pan/scan more than I can with the annoying
logos/animated blurbs on top of the image/truncated credits, etc. that
permeate American television. A friend recently sent me 3 copies of the
new "Doctor Who" series, as aired a few months ago on BBC. The
difference was incredible..only one brief "BBC" logo at the program
start, full credits at the end, and a single brief/non-instrusive
voiceover for the next program during the final credits. There are
subscription services in the USA that don't treat programming with that
much dignity any longer.
