Stratman,

The ".dll" file makes WinMX ignore the "hosts" file for connecting to
the WPN or the ONN. So restoring your original "hosts" file shouldn't
give any problems, but if you find it does, then it can't hurt to just
leave the "hosts" file containing the peer cache servers redirections.
If you have any other redirections in your original "hosts" file, like
those put there by anti-spyware applications to block spy- and adware,
then you might consider copying those lines from your original "hosts"
file and adding them to your new "hosts" file.
