I was a little harsh. Despite the fact that you published the URL, I'm sure
you meant well. I'm merely saying that it usually goes like this . . . .
(1) "nube" doesn't read WinMX, or general P2P newsgroup and/or web forum,
(2) "nube" downloads legitimate copy of WinMX,
(3) "nube" finds he/she can't connect, for a WIDE variety of reasons,
(4) "nube" finds scam paysite, believes it means easy downloads FOREVER, and
spends money,
(5) "nube" finds this group, or some forum, and admits to being 'taken in'.
Of course, you could replace step (2) with the contents of step (4), delete
(4), and renumber (5) to (4). The point is, "nubes" who are considering
buying a free program, and who can actually find a newsgroup or forum first
aren't going to read your post, much less understand what it's saying. They
WANT to believe that if you pay for something, it must be better. Basic
psychology. I wonder if anyone's clicked on your link and paid. I wouldn't
be surprised.

By publishing it, you became a participant in the whole process, though I'm
NOT saying you're a spammer as such. I'm merely saying you didn't think
about what you were doing. It was a silly thing to do.

Nonsense.

By publishing the URL, you could be seen by a casual observer as a
scuzzbucket who tries to fleece people. I'm sure the operation in question
truly appreciated you giving them a mention.

Makes me wonder that perhaps YOU were recently 'taken in' by the scamsite in
question. In which case, perhaps you see yourself in my 5-step plan, above.
You *know* I had to say that, don't you?!

Good for you. You might want to think about not advertising them so
carelessly next time, though.
