Do it *now* while you have control.
What you are doing is preventing Explorer from loading the dll service
that reads the details of the video (resolution,bit rate,etc).
Unfortunately when shmedia reads a video it doesn't understand it goes
into an endless loop.
If you should want to re-install it (you probably won't), just
Run...
regsvr32 shmedia.dll
