Get a LiteOn 5045 (i.e. from Costco.com) and use the simple proceedure
available online (a CD-R that you create to flash a bios update) to dsiable
Copy Protection function. Then copy your VHS tapes to DVD to your hearts
content- for your own personal use of course- as giving them away or selling
the original and keeping a copy is violating the copyright. Simply putting
your original video on another format is not. That was settled years ago
when the cassette tape was invented and people made personal copies of the
LP's to take portable.
