Oh, give us 30-something's an ounce of credit. I thought the reference was
hysterical; for all the right reasons, too.
I remember WFW (311 and 312) and I'm sure many of us also know what someone
is referring to when the numbers "eighty-eighty-six" are carelessly tossed
into a post, ostensibly attempting the same joke.
Personally, when I refer to someone who "doesn't get it," though, I allude
to the "Windows95 users in the back row" or (those fishes-in-barrells) the
MacIntosh users.
WFW, a Toshiba Satellite, WP5.1, PrintShop [Broderbund's] and a 9,600 baud
modem got me through college, back in the days when you could actually stick
it out on the same hw/sw config for your upper-classman years without
feeling like an Amish dude on the Comdex tradeshow floor.
Keep up the valid references and don't pander to an audience that can't
figure out how to "Google" terms they don't immediately recognize.

Your punchline in reply is falling on deaf ears, I'm afraid!
Most users on this echo have never heard of WFW!!
