I don't think you have strayed - I have been using emusic for a while.
I never did see any problem with paid services, I think they compliment
p2p rather well, and this way I don't have to make a conscious effort to
put money into the music industry.
Incidentally, emusic is a paid service representing around 1000
independent record-labels.
Of course it isn't as complete as p2p, but I don't mind that too much,
(as long as I get to keep p2p of course).
They have 700,000 titles and you get 50 downloads per month for 9.99
gbp, (just under 20p each).
Importantly, emusic has no DRM on the files - I am not renting them but
buying them.
This isn't spam either ;-)
