I found it was an interesting article. The author is apparently an
expert on operating systems, yet missed the detail of on-disk copy
protection. If anything it's a wake-up call NOT to put new CD's on
your computer, regardless of whether they have DRM or not. Or...this
may spark a run on old computers with CD burners. There are gamers who
leep old 486's and Celerons around to play games that won't run on
newer generations of Windows. Perhaps dedicated MP3-rippers will keep
a 2nd hand PC around with which to rip CD's, but one they vcan afford
to infect with rootkits or other industry-supplied viruses.
