Wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Even before the WinMX Peer
servers went down, I was having problems with either D/L or other users
U/L'ing from me.

I have DSL, running WinMX 3.53, Primary or Secondary makes no
difference, on W98FE, Zone Alarm 4.5.594, Netgear router. Killed Zone
Alarm, did port forwarding of 6699 and 6257 in router, but still can't
D/L or U/L (also set WinMX ports accordingly). Usually get "Waiting for
Network Reply" for the max timeout (600 seconds in my setup), then
"Timed Out". Pulled router out of the loop, and still the same results.
Went to Steve Gibson's grc.com, ran ShieldsUp, and all service ports
show "Stealth". So, I suspected the DSL modem's NAT is blocking.

Went to my laptop, running XP Home, same Zone Alarm, but connected via
dial-up, ran WinMX in secondary connection. Killed Zone Alarm, checked
ports via ShieldsUp, and 6699 is "Open", 6257 is "Closed" but not
Stealth. Still no joy--well, almost! One lucky soul was able to upload
a file from me, but I still time out when trying to download.

Using the olepro32.dll patch, PIEPatch 2.6. Get plenty of chat rooms,
plenty of results on search, have mixed (but sometimes wonderful)
results browsing others in chat rooms.

Anyone have any idea of anything I can do to improve my chances of
downloading? (Yes, I share files! Only have some 500+, but that should
indicate I am willing to share.)

Thanks in advance for any help.
