You can right-click on the WinMX icon and choose "hide" - WinMX will
disappear, sometimes leaving the icon, sometimes not. When the icon
disappears, I re-open the program by hitting the winmx shortcut and the
program opens as if it had never closed - downloads/uploads are already
in progress.
