Thanks for the replys all. Yes, I did mean AM. The only device I
found that met my criteria was the Pogo player. I came very close to
ordering it, but decided against it after reading many reviews on
Amazon.com. Although quite a few people seemed happy with it, those
who were not expressed concerns that I think would have driven me
crazy, notably:

- Very poor user interface (to the point that many users claimed that
the device is hardly useable as an MP3 player)

- Inability to pause/restart, only choice is to start from beginning of
file

- Firmware issues such as ridiculous filenames, problems handling the
days of the week, crashing and recording bugs, and so on

- One user claimed that Pogo could fix a design problem on the player
if the unit was mailed in, but would not do it for free (this was on
the first version and I can not remember the exact problem, but I think
this says a lot about the company itself)

- Poor AM reception

and so on... I'd definitely check out the comments at Amazon.com before
buying one. Again, many people seemed very happy with the device so it
may be for you, but at $250 I quickly changed my mind when I started
investigating a solution suggested by one user's feedback there.

I've connected my radio to my computer (only going after one station so
no need to interact with the radio luckily) and am using recording
software to record at various times during the day. I also wrote a
program to FTP the mp3 files to my website after the recording is done
so that I can retrieve them when at work.

I ended up going with a solid-state Rio w/ 512MB memory. I think I
will be buying a 1GB chip to add more memory, but I love the unit. The
interface is very intuitive (a manual really isn't required) and I am
happy to see shock-resistant material on the case similar to that of
Motorola's nearly indestructable i530 phone.

I did get a suggestion to use a PC radio tuner card; I may buy one in
time but my problem is solved for now.
