Simply because my girlfriend had been through 3 or 4 'El Cheapo' mp3
players - unlike me she has always been into mp3 since the original Napster
days - so I bought her an iPOD Mini just because as women often do - she
liked the look of it.
After installing her iTunes and docking the iPOD so impressed was I with the
way the software and hardware worked together it was me who started to
subscribe to Podcasts, purchase some audiobooks and mp3 her CD collection...
I still have a thing about listening to music in any compressed format as I
have always been into quality, top-end hi-fi and prefer not to compromise
sound quality - if a pair of HD600's fed by a Supercapped Headline on the
end of a Linn/Naim system doesn't float my boat then the chances of any
portable music player doing so are remote.
Because I spend time flying the iPOD takes up a lot less space than a stack
of books...and I can 'read' the book with my eyes closed!
