Seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me - a sort of expansive
way of asking "why even bother talking about the video iPod?" I was
wondering the same thing - why bother spending about $300 for a
subscale version of a DVD player? Assuming it can do what a standard
portable player can do, what's the benefit. Existing players, while
not as small as the iPod are still small enough to be carried easily.
They play DVD's that you already own, and their storage is limited to
the number of DVD's you can get. With the iPod, you've got to load the
media using your computer and, if you're going to be away from home,
you've got one chance to do it.
