I'm not necessarily looking for the smallest file size.

I'm looking for the best way to rip my CDs into .mp3s
I hear things about LAME and VBR and I'm not sure what program I should
be using.
I want to get rid of these CDs after I rip them, so I'm looking for a
way to get really good, close to lossless, files.
